Don’t let the interview be the last time a company hears from you. Your resume stood out enough to get you in the door, but sending a thank you note will help ensure the interviewer remembers you when it’s time to make a decision too.
Ideally, you’ll send a handwritten thank you note to your interviewer within a few hours of completing the interview. The note should be on clean, plain and professional stationary. For a video or phone interview, it’s appropriate to follow up with an email.
While your interview is still fresh on your mind, take a few minutes to write your message. Think about what went will in the interview and where you connected with your interviewer. Your thank you note should be brief, but it should be specifically tailored to your meeting.
